Un an après le suicide du styliste Alexander McQueen, le Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute lui rend hommage au travers d’une rétrospective présentant une centaine de ses créations. Au total, près de 18 années de travaux sont réunies, de sa graduation à la Saint Martins School à Londres en 1992 jusqu’au dernier défilé qui a pris place après sa mort en février 2010. On retrouve des pièces emblématiques telles que la fameuse veste kimono, la redingote origami, et des créations qui reflètent ses silhouettes contemporaines et romantiques. After the untimely passing of style icon Alexander McQueen, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute decided to pay tribute with a stunning retrospective of some of the designer’s most memorable creations. In total, 18 years of works since his graduation from the prestigious Saint Martins School in London in 1992, through to his last runway show which took place just after his death in February of 2010. Within the collection are his notable kimono jacket, the origami fitted cloak, and the limitless romantic contemporary creations unique to McQueen.
